The BEST chocolate chip cookie recipe I've ever tasted is finally here! At least, it's the best I've ever tasted that I made! Ha ha! I have already made them twice in the last week. They are AMAZING straight from the oven, but they do tend to get a little dry and hard. The first time I made them, I had 66 cookies. The second time I didn't have as many. But I only baked about 18 cookies and froze the rest of the dough in dough balls. They do soften up well in the microwave for about 10 seconds, though. The recipe sounds like a lot of dough, but it's not actually very hard to make. I just let my mixer go for several minutes so the butter and eggs get really whipped and light.
Chocolate Chip Cookies
1 lb butter (4 sticks)--softened to room temp
2 C brown sugar
1/2 C sugar
*Cream first 3 ingredients together. Add:
2 eggs
2 tsp. vanilla extract
In a separate bowl, mix:
5 1/2 C flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
*Add to cream mixture a little at a time. Add 1 1/2 bags (3 cups) milk chocolate chip cookies. Bake at 350 for 10 minutes on cookie stone. Enjoy! Makes 5-6 dozen cookies.
Now, a few of my notes: I used semi-sweet chocolate chips and thought they tasted just fine. And I don't know what a cookie stone is....hope I'm not showing too much of my ignorance! I just used a cookie sheet, but I had to increase the baking time to about 15 to 20 minutes. I don't actually mix my baking soda and flour together first. I measure my flour in a separate bowl just so I don't lost count. And I think 3 cups of chocolate chips is too much. I only used one bag (2 cups) the second time I made them. But, to each his own....!
I'm pretty sure Jacob has eaten all the cookies I made yesterday or I would go have some right now! I really hope this makes sense. I'm very tired right now and haven't felt well today....good luck and enjoy!!!!

She Who Cooks Never Cleans!
Yeah right! We wish. But here's a few super yummy recipes just in case this theory works for some of you!
Best cinnamon rolls ever! This recipe uses a yellow cake mix. I wish I was eating one right now.

Crock Pot Chick Salsa
4 or 5 chicken breasts
1 big jar mango or pineapple chipotle salsa
1 small jar chile verde
1 can black beans
2 or 3 cups frozen corn
Cook on high for 4 hours
Shred chicken and stir in 1 block cream cheese.
Serve with tortilla chips.
Meatball Subs
The meatballs are just the frozen Costco meatballs (about 1/2 the bag) and the sauce is one can of crushed pineapple (29oz.), 1/2 jar of apricot jam, and one bottle of honey bbq sauce. Sometimes I add some soy sauce too about a 1/4 cup, and just let it all meld and simmer until hot ... about 3 or 4 hours. You can eat them plain or make subs with swiss cheese. They are so great! Last time I used honey mustard bbq sauce and mango jam. Yum!

Best idea ever!
I love it!! That's really all I have to say for now, since I'm on the internet at Mom and Dad's house, which is incapable of anything beyond agonizingly slow, but I'll have a whole lot more to say once I'm back home. Which I hope is really REALLY soon!!! We're doing fine and having fun, but I miss my home and husband!!!!

Emily

Hi girls! I'm so excited for this blog! I wanted to share this recipe with you. It's one that Jennifer and I use quite often. So it's been tested and tried for sure!

I have tweaked it a little bit--I like to put frozen corn in while the potatoes are cooking, about 2 or 3 cups is plenty. I think I'm gonna have to make it tonight--I'm getting hungry for it!

What Everybody Ought To Know About Sisters
Or at least what we ought to know about each other. I LOVE talking to you girls all the time but I MISS MISS MISS hanging out, cooking together, going to movies, shopping (definitely this one!), sitting on each other's couches with all our kids running around. I miss being together. That's what this blog is all about.
The four of us can swap recipes, share favorite blogs, exchange mothering wisdom and dish on all the hilarious things our kids say and do. Not to mention whine and complain to each other. Or at least I will. :)
So change the backgrounds whenever you want, add photos, buttons, links, whatever! I'm so excited for this! Yay!
